Invite your members
Invite people by email or with a list, share a join link or QR code, approve requests, and choose who can join your community.
Updated October 10, 2026
There are two ways in: a personal invitation by email, or a join link you share. People are only part of your community once they accept, so nobody is added without saying yes.
Invite people by email
- 01Open Invitations in your host console and select "Invite people".
- 02To invite several people, stay on "Paste a list". Paste names and emails, or select "Upload CSV" to load them from a file.
- 03Choose how they join with "Invite as", then select the send button. It tells you how many invites will go out.
- 04To invite just one person, switch to "One person", enter their email and role, and select "Send invite".
Each invitation shows in the list below with its status: Pending, Accepted, Expired, or Revoked. You can "Resend" or "Revoke" any of them from the row.
Share a join link or QR code
A join link works for anyone you share it with, which makes it good for a team channel, a newsletter, or a poster on the wall.
- 01On the Invitations page, find the shareable join link and select "Create join link".
- 02Before you create it, you can limit it to an email domain, cap how many people can use it, set it to expire after some days, or turn on "Approve each person before they join".
- 03Once it exists, use "Copy link", "Download QR", or "Copy an invite message for your group". "Printable poster" gives you a page you can print or save as a QR image.
- 04To stop a link working, select "Deactivate". It stops straight away. To replace it, create a new one.
Approve requests to join
If your link asks you to approve people, or someone at your domain asks to join, they appear under "Requests to join". "Approve and invite" sends them an invitation. "Decline" sends nothing, so nobody gets a rejection email.
Choose who can join
- "Who can join?": keep "Anyone you invite", or choose "Only certain email domains" and save the domains. Invitations, join links, and codes then only work for addresses at those domains.
- "Who can find this community?": "Invite only", or listed for people at your work or school domain.
- "Who can invite people?": hosts only, or let members suggest or invite people too.
What the people you invite see
An email invitation opens a page that says "You're invited to" your community, with "Accept & join". A join link opens a welcome page with "Join" (or "Ask to join" if you approve each person). If a link has expired, been deactivated, or reached its limit, the page says so plainly instead of failing quietly.
Look after your members
Members lists everyone with their status: Active, Paused, Invited, or Left. Select "Manage" on a row to pause introductions for someone, or to remove them. Removing asks you to confirm first, and you can restore someone later.
